    I like new crop rice for the texture after cooking and about to buy. Then I notice the picture has the printing on the bag "NEW CROP 2011". laugh out loud pass.
    Probably just an old picture as oppose to old rice.

    It's not about store comparison unless you are factoring the pricing but more like the country of origin. Thai rice is one of the best you can buy.

    Decent price for the weight and shipping.

    Typically $1 per pound is normal. $15 for a 20 pound bag is good. Highly rated jasmine rice would be $25-$30 at an asian grocery store.

    Most bulk bags jasmine rice in the US is from Thailand. Rice from Japan or California is mostly short grain

    Even with Thai rice, there are better brands than others. 3 ladies or elephant is good
