I always wonder how these prices suddenly show at 2 3 am . No clue . For an off brand mono price, I paid 90 something few years ago.

I use foodsaver bags with mine but you can just use a ziplock bag and seal out the air by submerging the bag under water just below where the ziplock strip part of the bag is. It's good for cooking things all the way through like steaks, where just grilling a thick cut may be hard to cook the center all the way through. After sous viding, I put it on the grill a few minutes just to get a little char for flavor and looks. Because of how sous vides work, you get a consistent temperature throughout, which helps avoid food poisoning while not "overcooking." I think hospitals also use this method for the safety factor.
