I mean you can disagree with what that person has to say reg this or any other product's environmental issues, but it seems pretty close minded and backwards to say no one should make such a comment here at all regarding a product's environmental issues. For this particular product and/or for a particular individual (such as yourself) saving a few dollars on a throw might be enough to ignore the highlighted issues. Doesn't mean all deals and all people are equally effected by such a comment. Saving money on a purchase doesn't mean you have to save money on environmentally poor products. People can be looking for deals on products that align with their environmental concerns as well.

Yep, these fleeces in particular shed a ton. Seems like almost everything Costco sells nowadays is 100% polyester, which is unfortunate

The amazon link you provided is for their faux fur blanket, which is different from this throw. I bought the blanket a year ago from Costco, and it is the most amazing thing.

I got some of your "$8.99" microplastic/fleece ones with cool nature prints at walmart last year on clearance for $1 - these do appear to be better quality. Also reversible means two layers, so $8.99x2 = more than $12.97.
