But then you'd have to also purchase a new motherboard and DDR5 RAM.

If you're building a new PC then AM5 3D is the way to go. If you're on AM4 currently then this is the best CPU to get for gaming and this won't change since no new AM4 chips will be made.

Damn it. Bought it a week ago at 323... but i guess i got 5 dollar credit and 10 off 25 with hub pickup. Amazon wont do crap to price adjust so i wont bother. Would have been slick if i waited. Oh well.

thanks for posting this OP Smilie .. I'm sure people are more interested in the processor than the CPU but going by my experience redeeming the free game they will make you jump through a zillion hoops before they (reluctantly in my opinion Stick Out Tongue ) finally give you your free company of heroes game ... also AMD will demand that it's software be allowed to check and make sure you installed the processor on your PC before giving you the free game.

Wrong. All of the AM5 processors available today are slower than this one for gaming.
