I just got a ASRock AM5 motherboard and the latest bios fixes the boot time issue. Cold boots in like 10 seconds even with XMP enabled.

Seems like a solid deal for a new build. I spent about $33 more a month ago using a more modest motherboard and memory. I believe this would also qualify for the free STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor game

Just curious about the Mobo, I noticed that it has a 8 pin and a 4 pin connector in addition to the 24 pin. Do you need to use both or use an 8 pin is just fine?

The manual is here [asrock.com]. From page 42/43, "Connecting an ATX 12V 4-pin cable to ATX12V2 is optional" and "This motherboard provides a 8-pin ATX12V power connector. To use a 4-pin ATX power supply, please plug it along Pin 1 and Pin 5."

It appears that you can use either an 8 pin, a 4 pin, or both. The extra 4 pin is recommended for advanced overclocking.

Worth pairing with a 4070TI or is that overkill?

Thanks for posting this OP Smilie

If I can make a suggestion .. this assume that you're a paranoid PC builder like me who flips out over the slightest possibility anything has gone wrong Stick Out Tongue ... check the newegg reviews so you're not freaking out over a possibly long boot time (user opinions will vary as to what's " a long boot time") or wondering what the heck those sticker things are on the ram slots

here are some reviews of the board with some info you might find useful
