Of course, the free ones don't cover some types of tax filing requirements or have income limits on the free option, OR... they may be free for federal, then charge a lot for state. Or the guided assistance may be limited or not support. Not every one has low income and a basic return. Sometimes it's worth to pay a few dollars when you're dealing with a large income and various tax forms that the average person doesn't deal with.
My tax return wasn't basic and I have no issue on cash app (for free). You can always retype all your info into TurboTax (without paying) and make sure your numbers are the same.

Wish they would allow uploading supporting document PDFs instead of still needing to print and mail those.

Does Cash App Taxes generate an estimate tax payment schedule like the software the pros use?

This is what I use too, completely free and gets the job done just the same. One year I even double checked my refund via TurboTax vs CreditKarma and they were exactly the same. I vouch for CreditKarma (CashApp) all the way 👌

Yes! I do that every year. Start with the popular paid one (that lobbies to prevent free filing for all so people use their paid service https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7xQQkzWhMOc ) And once I am on the checkout page I just quickly repeat on cashapp's service. The refund numbers have matched the last 5 years and I have $150 that I treat myself to something else with... This year it was books.

People still pay to file taxes online even though there are multiple free options. Interesting.
This is why I'm thinking. There is free online tax filing for a lot of places.

Maybe it's a good deal if you don't qualify for it though.
