For anyone who gets it, here are some things to do/test:
Things to do/test when getting the laptop before the 30 days mark so you can RMA any issues:
* Update Drivers and bios: On the Dell site, under support for the laptop, there is an option for auto download and update drivers and bios.
- Turn off turboboost in bios (F12 when turning on laptop)
- Set battery charge to 80% or 85% in bios (F12 when turning on laptop)
- Run Dell Diagnostic test / Run the 40 min test which actually took like 10 mins
- Test RAM using memtest86 - this will take about 4-5 hours so set aside time
- Test/check hard drive with HD Sentinel or CrystalDiskInfo -- check to see how many TB written
- Install "SK hynix Drive Manager Easy Kit 2.6.0" or "Samsung Magician" for SSD check
--- For Sk hynix, download from Softpedia (retailers site is slow)
- Test battery Powershell based on your post ("Running `powercfg /batteryreport` from Windows Powershell")
--- Or check using HWMonitor
- Test battery by dropping to 20% and back 80%
- Check cosmetics
- Test audio and headphone jack
- Test camera and microphone
- Run CPU test with geekbench or CPU-Z
- Test fingerprint reader

This is an awesome deal if you get a good unit. I ordered one last time and it had a bunch of problems - when I opened the laptop after taking it out of the box, it was filthy. A bunch of gunk all throughout the keyboard, touchscreen had a bunch of greasy fingerprints on it.. really disappointing. Also, the fingerprint reader didn't work well; screen had a few bright/burned out spots; and, most importantly, the right touchpad button didn't work at all! This was for a "Grade B" unit. And I emailed Dell Refurbished and asked them to send me a new unit, but instead they just sent me a free return label and when they received my return, they gave me a refund!

Someone else on slickdeals had a similar bad experience, but instead of emailing they called Dell Refurbished, and when they did that explained they wanted an exchange and they got another unit sent that seemed to be better. I tried to get another unit but I didn't find one that I wanted (they only had 8GB models left; I had gotten the 16GB before - since the RAM is soldered you can't upgrade later, so get as much memory as you can with the 7390 2-in-1), so looked elsewhere.

I ended up buying the same laptop model (7390 2-in-1) off eBay for about a $40 premium. It didn't come with a USB C charger so I had to buy that, which was why it cost more.. but the unit I received is in very good condition. It doesn't have a fingerprint reader... BUT it arrived in clean condition, touchpad buttons all work and the screen is perfect, with no burn spots or dead pixels (and the battery is in excellent condition, almost brand new!). I did notice within the first couple of days, upon wake from sleep that sometimes the WiFi didn't automatically reconnect, so I wrote a PowerShell script to run upon wake-up to check if WiFi network is disconnected & if so, reconnect (runs via Task Scheduler). But that issue went away on its own after a few days.. maybe a recent Windows Update fixed it? Anyway I have that script if I need it! Big Grin

I would definitely recommend jumping on this deal if you would like a good laptop that is lightweight (about 3lb), fully supported by Windows 11, and has a touch screen and comfortable keyboard (not full sized of course but it is a good fit for the size - this is why it is lighter weight, it's smaller so make sure you understand what you're getting). If the laptop you receive is bad in any way, DO NOT EMAIL DELL REFURBISHED! Call them, talk to a human and explain you'd like an exchange for a working laptop. If I had done that I would have probably saved $40 and gotten the same nice laptop I am using now! Learn from my mistake. Stick Out Tongue

Dell Refurbished is hit or miss. This time I had a bad experience; last time I got a Dell Latitude E7470 that was grade B but arrived in PRISTINE condition, looked brand new. It still works great today.. the only issue is the battery is a bit tired, only has about 50% of its capacity left. I also updated the registry to run Windows 11 on it (as it only has a 6th generation Intel processor). Great laptop, still like it but it's a bit too big to carry/take on trips, which is why I got the 7390 2-in-1. It feels like a more affordable version of the Dell XPS X13! Wink
Slick Deal for a 2in1 Touch Screen!!

What I Like: The 2in1 touch screen: 1080p display and 8th gen i5, that's Windows 11 upgradable!

Things to Consider: Not all 7390 2in1 came with thunderbolt, probably why its not listed in the spec sheet. The ram is soldier onto the board, so buy 16gb of ram! The Dell Active Pen for note taking and drawing is accessory item worth looking at.

The regular 7390 laptop is also a good deal. The 2in1 is a Slick Deal!

7390 2in1 touch is an excellent deal. Got one from last time, grade A, that turned out to be close to brand new in condition. Getting one more. Thanks.

Return seems to be 30 days, not 100.

Text from link in OP:

"During the first 30 days of ownership: In addition to the parts replacement process described above, you may also return the product for a refund during the first 30 days from the invoice date (excluding shipping and handling charges and applicable restocking fees) "

More specs and a fraction of the price of these Macbooks we keep seeing advertised at $800-$4000+.

Not saying Macs ain't "good" machines, but for the average person, these Dell refurbs are going to be EXCELLENT. They're business-class machines that have been used ~3 years and are ready for another round as a consumer machine.

Oh, at $179, you're getting a TOUCHSCREEN, 16gb ram, 512gb ssd, and actual USABLE ports! Apples don't have touchscreens, and the Entry Level Air M2 comes with 8gb ram and 256gb ssd (which is intentionally slowed by using a single chip instead of a pair). And all you get is a singular USB-C port, since the other USB-C port is being used for power. The Dells come with USB-A and HDMI -- you know, ports that real people use for real work.

Sure, is the M2 air faster? Yup. It better darn well be at more than 5x the price!

Thank you! Got the 2 in 1 with 16gb. I have a true 2 in 1 with a detachable keyboard that I don't like cause you have to use it on a flat surface.
