I saw this deal when I started my small business this year and wanted a free business checking. The offer looked tempting. I deposited my $3k on Feb 7th. It took about a week for the funds to be available. We'll see if I get the $500 after 60 days.

"For over a decade, U.S. Bank knew its employees were taking advantage of its customers by misappropriating consumer data to create fictitious accounts," said CFPB Director Rohit Chopra in a press release.Jul 30, 2022

Agree 100%. I have been burned by them many times on bonuses and their customer service sucks. The last time I tried to get this specific bonus, they sent me a letter stating that I had to provide an EIN, which my sole proprietorship doesn't have. within X days else they would freeze my account. I closed the account days later. Now that we just closed one of our business credit accounts with them, they sent us this checking offer again. They can stuff it.

Wells Fargo did this too and paid $3 billion in fines for it.
