I second this assertion—and boycott Costco for life.

Though the big 50% off Verizon Xbox thread last week was pretty epic. Wish we were still getting more content like that.

WAREHOUSE-ONLY
BUY ONE PAIR of prescription eyeglasses AND GET $50 OFF EACH additional pair of prescription eyeglasses.
Costco now accepts most vision insurance plans. Not valid with any other promotion. Selection varies by location. Current prescription required. Order transaction must occur on the same day. EACH pair of eyeglasses (new frame and lenses) must be for the same individual.
We bought our first sets from Costco just in the past few months. We were pretty routine Zenni people, with 4 people in glasses, and 2 kids - where their Rx and heads change all the time so it doesn't make sense to blow $$ on expensive glasses.
I'd say Costco was about half the price of the optometrist, so $150-$200 per pair. That's around double what Zenni would be. That said Costco doesn't have the bazillion options (nickel and dime) that Zenni does. Oh you want thinner lenses? More $$. You want special coating? More $$. They just include a lot of that stuff as standard, with the exception of transitions that is. You're allowed one replacement of lenses due to scratches in the first year (they don't advertise this it seems).
The only trick to online glasses is getting your PD right, otherwise the glasses will give you headaches and hurt your eyes, and of course you can't exactly try glasses on before purchasing them.
All that said I think I'll probably go with Costco in the future over Zenni.
