One thing to consider if you have a Costco membership is that if history repeats itself (based on last year M1 deals) it might drop to $1,799 at Costco in March. If you're considering applecare, it is $219 at Costco at time of laptop purchase v $279 elsewhere. Also, 2% back with executive membership and additional 2% back with Costco citi. Yes, other cards have CB and if you have 5% CB card for amazon, it's near a wash (save for applecare cost).
I'm aware Costco citi visa no longer has extended warranty, but Costco gives you a second year. And if you have applecare +, that's three years coverage.

This laptop was released a month ago. M3 is not coming to this laptop for over a year. Sure Apple is developing the m3 but they're also planning for the m4.
