Could someone share their use case for these? I'm genuinely curious. They are 2-2.5x the price of solid panels and the fact that you need it flexible implies that not all of the panel would be sun facing at any given time. But I see these a lot so I'm sure it's just a lack of my understanding.

I don't own, but I could see if durability were a concern they could probably be of benefit. For example, like on a boat/RV where the structure itself can be subjected to deflection. Is it worth 2x the cost, IDK.

You primarity see these on vans/RVs, where the surface area is limited. People will curve them over the rounded edges/leading edges of their vehicles to maximize space without compromising aerodynamics.
That said, its a very specific use case, and if you can use rigid panels, skip these.

They're not only 2x the price, they're also prone to faster deterioration you wouldn't expect to see on a standard panel. There are special cases where the surface you are trying to put it on could be curved or something. Because these panels are so much lighter, some people choose them because their installation method is glue. I still wouldn't use them, but whatever.

Thanks SD peeps. I will stay in my rigid panel lane, but I appreciate all the insight!

These panels are CIGS which means that they are thin film, and lightweight. Because these solar panels are flexible, they're good for moving objects like boats, rv's, or vans like in this youtube video [youtube.com]

I have a pair (not this brand) of flexible panels on top of my wedge camper for my truck. The reason I chose this was ease of application. I didnt need to purchase additional mounting brackets and cross bar (required for my set up which would have added $400) to the set up. Because its flat and very light compared to the rigid panels, I'm able to mount it using 3M VHB tape.

The ones I purchased on amazon were about $130 each.
