I have the powerblocks but have used the Bowflex. I prefer the physical size of the powerblock. The flat bottom is nice too when you're resting it on your leg for certain exercises. The weight increment is a downside at the lower end but it hasn't been an issue that bothers me. You could always get small magnet weights to slap on if it did.
Big positive for me was that I could expand them. I bought stage 1 and then later on the other stages as they went on sale and I needed them. I knew I'd outgrow the Bowflex's 52lb limit

Stick to stage 3. You're not ready for stage 4. No one is ready for stage 4.

Just a note from someone with the powerblocks, they have a new PRO style which eliminates the top two bumpers on the handles. I had an older pro set which is similar to the elites with the bumpers at all 4 corners of the handles, and just upgraded to the new PRO handles without the top two bumpers and also feature knurled grips.

If you are a regular/heavy lifter the newer handles w/ knurled grips are significantly better imo. When you start getting close to maxing out the handles such as on bench (90 pounds on each handle) the rubber handles can get a little slippery.

Granted they are a lot more expensive than this deal, but since these are somewhat a BIFL it is something to confisder.

Of note they used to sell a stage 4 kit, which I did get but doesn't look like they do anymore. My stage 4 pro kit came with extra long handles to accompany the extra 2 plates that go on it. I do use it occasionally, but due to the length/bulkyness of the handles it isn't ideal. The stage 4 pro legacy kit is 125max per handle.

Black friday they were all on sale at Amazon for this price point. That is a long time to wait Smilie.

I would recommend setting up a price alert for 145 on CCC. Randomly they do go on sale.

I've never seen a stage 4. Got a link? I'm assuming that's 90-110lbs?

Not sure if you are trolling, but this version of powerblock doesn't have a stage 4.

How does Stage 1 Powerblock compare to the Bowflex Selectech 552? Seems the adjustability of the Bowflex might be better for beginners with the 2.5lb adjustments up to 25. Easier without the handle inserts of the Powerblock to keep track of anyway.

I haven't had power blocks but the primary reason I moved on from bowflex is the bulkiness and awkwardness when placing on my thigh for heavier weight settings. It wasn't a deal breaker by any means but it's definitely part of the experience.

About $580 for the 90lbs package. Really not bad for that amount of weight and all the benefits of getting a quick select setup like this.

Based on my research, aside from the awkward block shape, this product will enable most workout movements and will last forever. The other nitpick cons I've read are the non knurling handles(which can be upgraded) and "caged" design of this specific model. Other models have a more open design.

I've used both and prefer the powerblocks. I've also used dumbbells at the gym going up to 100bs on bench press and let me tell you nothing feels as stable as the powerblocks because of their caged designed which distributes the weight more equally in your hands. But trying them all on your own will give you a better idea on what you prefer since everyone is a different size and have different goals.

Just trying to remember from the other post... SO the stage 2 and 3 from this deal will not fit on the Powerblock Elite EXP sets? These kits only fit on the USA?
