Depends on your use case. I was using a 27" IPS panel @ 1440p no curved panel (ASUS Designo or something like that) and then flipped over to a 32" curved Acer VA panel with similar specs.

If I was doing anything with design, I'd probably go with IPS. The colors pop more, and the whites are cleaner IMO, but the blacks look like trash. If you're just doing general WFH, this is a great monitor. If you want to game on it, understand it's restrictions and have a PC that can push it to 100hz. There's a law of diminished returns on Hz - 60 to 100Hz is a big jump, 100 to 144Hz isn't nearly as dramatic, but still noticeable if you're coming from 144Hz down to 100Hz.

FWIW, this is coming from a guy who also owns OLED and FALD TVs.

Good deal as long as you're not planning on gaming on it. This one has real bad black smear & ghosting issues.

1800R so not super curved. Real brightness is roughly 270 nits. Rtings here:

I see this comment on almost every monitor post. Can someone explain to me why this information is important?
Most people find IPS panels to be superior in viewing angle and color performance.

Did you come from a VA monitor or IPS? Currently have two 27" IPS monitors, wondering if it's worth upgrading to this for office work
I have one of these next to an IPS. Can you tell the difference? I'd have to say yes. However, it's not night-and-day different link some VA panels of yesteryears. I generally was an IPS-or-bust kind of guy, but some of the more modern VA panels are pretty good. This might not be the best one out there, but after I got one of these, I liked it enough to get a second one. So I have a 27" IPS in portrait mode in between two of these beasts on my desk at work (I have two workstations, so it's not as overkill as it sounds) and I'm quite happy with these, ESPECIALLY for the price!

There is a seller on eBay selling refurbished units, likely Costco returns. I bought one in November on sale for $250 and liked it so much I recently bought another for $300. My use case is productivity, not gaming, but the curved widescreen is great. This was my first curved monitor and I was worried about liking it but can't say enough good things about it. I even use the built in speakers.

How is compared to the other front page Walmart samsung?
https://slickdeals.net/f/16464487-samsung-34-class-flat-led-ultra-wqhd-monitor-199-fs-walmart?src=SiteSearch

Besides this has a slight curve, built in speakers, adjustable height stand?

Wondering if its worth the extra $100. Using for work 99% of time (excel and browser)

Great if you Day Trade. The resolution is pretty good. Haven't test it for gaming but I'm sure it will be okay.

All the wide screen monitors aren't good for gaming. Just for working station
Many gamers disagree with you. I wouldn't say that this particular monitor is great for gaming, but that's because of issues like black smear and ghosting. But in general, ultrawides [wsgf.org] and super [google.com] ultrawides [pcgamingwiki.com] are great for gaming.

I got in on this deal when it was front page back during Christmas. It's a decent monitor. I use it for business application and nothing more. If you plan on gaming or doing video editing I would not recommend.
Wonder how it would do for trading?

I had this monitor for a few weeks. Returned and got this Dell. Can't be happier.

I returned this LG and bought the Dell and can't be happier for home office. The text on the Dell is much much clearer. The auto switch and picture by picture features are super convenient for having both personal PC and work laptop connected to this monitor. The downside is the Dell doesn't have built-in speaker. Everything else much better than the LG.

I work in IT and I'm looking for a monitor for my architect guy who works in autoCAD. Would this be good for that?

Personal preference but the curbed allows me to put mine on a smaller desk. I tried non curve and I had to move my head more + place it further.
