This is about $15 below the usual price, so not bad but not anything to FOMO. This model is less about performance and more about the attachments. I assume the stock performance is roughly like a Stryfe (the standard semiauto which ive never touched) but with less aftermarket, and a bulkier package.
If your kid likes switching out stocks and scopes and things like that for fun, this is not a bad choice nor a bad deal. I picked up two core blasters without accessories and the one I chopped into a pistol is among the kids' favorites, but it's objectively nothing special.
The problem is that the Stormcharge exists. It's available all day long on Walamrt.com for less money and better design (and probably a brighter future) than this. Unless swapping attachments is what you're after, I'd go Stormcharge all the way - something I say as the owner of zero Stormcharges and 2 Moduluses.
