Don't know if I need this but I like when people post deals like this
There aren't many Target ymmv deals anymore because you physically have to go to the store to see what is on clearance now since BS doesn't display clearance price for Target anymore.
Some helpful tips for people. If the item is showing in stock, but doesn't let you pickup ("Not eligible for pickup at this store") it's more than likely on clearance. Target follows a 30-50-70% markdown system so you could score 50% like OP or better, but you need to go to find out yourself.

So you mean if the item shows available online for pickup then it's likely not on clearance in store?

Target has never let you pickup a clearance item, but it will display the stock still. For example, look at OP's zipcode (60148) and you can see there are many stores with stock, but say "Not eligible for Order Pickup". This mean it's probably on clearance whether it be 30-50-70%, you just have to go see for yourself. If you scroll through the stores, some let you order for pickup which means it's likely full price.

Thanks for the clarification. I just saw some stores in Cali have it in stock and allow pickup so I guess this deal is just regional.

I'm seeing plenty of stores using LA & SF zip with them in stock and not eligible for pickup. Could just be unlucky in your area, but they eventually get markdown so you could check back again later. Electronics are rarely regional specific clearance from what I've noticed.

It's showing in stock, out of stock or unknown on the target app. I wonder if unknown means in stock and on clearance.
NYC lower Manhattan confirmed yes $149, bought one, new today. Thanks for sharing the info. Price on shelf still shows 299. Yellow sticker on box shows 149. I called ahead and confirmed the price with the associate before going there. There were three, when I arrived. March 3, 2023.

I bought HERO8 from Costco back in 2020 for $289.99 and still regret I didn't wait for HERO9 Costco bundle.
As of today you can have HERO11 with subscription for $349 and HERO10 with subscription for $319.98 on GoPro.com.
