Purchased the physical version of this game last year - highly recommended for fans of the original.

Younger players or those who have never played arcade quarter-hungry games of this style may be less impressed.

For this price it's an easy decision though, it's a great up-to-4-player party game that almost anyone can play. Easy to learn but tough to beat.

I like the original but this version I really hated. If you're on the fence try the demo first.

Oof. No online play.

"but by offering little in the way of innovation and a lack of online multiplayer support, the game feels more like an old browser flash-game than a polished Switch release."

My MameOX v.72 Superburgertime rom on the original XBox used to let me play both players at same time. Something changed, and now, only one player is allowed at a time. Pressing P2 button does nothing on second controller. Bought new controller, nothing, downloaded different superburgertime ROm's (Japan, World, US), and still cannot restore ability to have second player join game. Also installed Mame platform called " MameOXTras", but runs also only one player. Any ideas?

Same here. I'll be honest, I still prefer the original aesthetic and the charm of its crunchy pixels to any newer one I've seen. There's just something about it that is timeless. The sequel, Diner, was also very good.

On a side note: there is a modded Intellivision BurgerTime ROM out there in the wild that has a ton of new levels (which are randomly selected iirc). I have jzINTV emulator and checked it out and it was really cool stuff.

Thanks for the idea; I tried the demo and while I thought it was OK, I found in handheld mode that there are so many burgers on the screen it's very hard to see.. this makes it difficult to enjoy.

If this included a "classic mode" so you could play the original Arcade version of Burgertime, I'd definitely pay $5 for it. But because it doesn't... I will pass on this.

Bought it and play it with kids. They dig the challenge. So interesting the obstacles they have now vs ol' skool. Running on ice, flame broiled burners you cross, disappearing ladders and floors. Pretty cool.
