Good call! Reminder VA usually lower latency but worse screen angles and color representation. IPS has more vivid representation and "nicer" screen at the cost of latency (or price). I prefer VA for gaming and IPS for office work or editing etc.

Got it today and HOLY CRAP have I been missing out. I'm really late to the party but the difference from my old 1080p monitors is crazy. The colors are beautiful, the refresh is crazy fast at 165 for gaming and so far I'm thoroughly impressed. I'll update again if anything changes but so far I'm a happy camper.

Looking at pulling the trigger but no reviews as it's brand new. Anyone have any experience with Sceptre monitors? Also is this HDR? Even their own site isn't clear...

I've had several sceptre monitors for work and personal. All have been quality lasting monitors. Screen is acceptable for the price, usually bevels are a little larger and monitor is a little heavier. Uses slightly older tech than newest monitors out. If the HDR1000 White UW from Sceptre was still being made I would have bought.

Honestly I would buy this if I didn't have a Samsung UW. Use an Amex or other cc with extended warranty if you're real concerned. That being said I haven't had one fail yet and I have 2 24" in service at my office for 5 years. I have a 27" I gave to my little sister in service for nearly a decade.

I am using 200hz 29" ultrawide sceptre monitor and it was so great for the price. Good monitor for affordable price. Tempting to pull trigger on this ^^

No USB-C so not a single-cord solution (for those who care).

I recently bought 2x Lenovo 34" UW IPS units for productivity and the single-cord solution / built-in hub is a game changer for productivity use cases (can run USB and ethernet through monitor and pass everything -- including the video signal and 90w PD -- through via the single USB-C connection to the computer, and then daisy chain together though DP).

I can't watch The Expanse on my VA panels. It's awful, space is black and my blacks are just meh. You can see separation in the black hues. Some games may suffer from this as well.

If you're watching a lot of content and doing media wait for IPS curved displays to drop in price.

VA does not have uniformity contrast. You see band of brightness and darkness, not good for photo editing.
