Why are there so many meat products? ? ? With 100 billion animals murdered for human food every year, is the variety of fake meat products really the issue here?
It could be that some vegetarians formerly ate meat and liked the taste and later went veggie and sometimes yearn for the taste.
I'm sorry but you don't seem to understand at all. Do you honestly think vegans and vegetarians give up meat because they don't like it? Many vegans especially are for the animals. We don't want them slaughtered, treated poorly, exploited, etc… so yeah meat substitutes are great options for us. I get that you eat food based on what tastes good to you but to us it's waaayyyy more than that.

This stuff isn't too bad. It's definitely not meant to be eaten plain. My favorite ways to eat this is probably tacos. It does pretty good in sloppy joes.
It is a little off but do able. The chicken variety I threw away after my first attempt.

I'm all for vegans and vegetarians, but why is it that there are so many meat substitutes? If you don't like meat, then don't eat it. Totally fine. When's the last time you heard someone asking about veggie flavored meat or "If only I could get this beef to taste like asparagus"??? 😉

TVP has been around forever. You've been eating it for years without realizing what it is.
Before it was just called filler. It's now marketed as meat substitute.

Crazy idea but maybe it's for meat eaters who want a night off. And vegans who throw dinner parties for non-vegan friends. Gee whiz.
