$300 is a steal. Paid $550 for the Walnut version, and they're phenomenal. We use them without a sub in our TV room, and it's pretty mind-blowing how good they sound for a 2.0 setup. Highly recommend.
Long time Klipsch fan. Picked these up from a third party, open box for $300 a couple weeks ago. Would absolutely do it again. Great option vs going with a soundbar, or a great option for a powered monitor set for your PC.

Just added a Klipsch R-12SWi sub to my Fives (also Costco $200) and I was surprised by how much improvement there was for a "budget" sub. Recommend adding a powered subwoofer if you already have the Fives

I've had mine for 6ish months and love them, but I remember when looking for a sub you had to have a special type of connection(i think single wire when most have two RCA's?) and couldn't find any decent sub that worked in the $100-$150 range. Do you have any recommendations at that price point? $200 just isn't worth it to me.

The sub out is just a single RCA. I think its hard to find something that would actually "help" the Fives <$200 because the Fives do well to ~50Hz, so you really want something that goes well below that, e.g. 30Hz? Maybe Monoprice?

The sub out is just a single RCA which most subwoofers accept. Plugging in "just one" RCA to a subwoofer that can take two is fine, two RCA inputs are just for convenience (e.g. if your output is stereo).
