Got this combo back in December. With the $25 new customer coupon it was $299. All I needed was 32GB of RAM and an inexpensive water cooler. Used existing power supply and SSD. System runs cool, quite, and no issues. Played around with overclocking but decided the net gain was not worth it.

Here is a link with more specials. It seems motherboards with DDR5 are the same price and in stock. https://www.microcenter.com/site/...board.aspx

As long as they have both products in stock the staff in the BYO computer area is often willing to honor the combo sale price for you.. they'd prefer the sale versus you not purchasing anything.

Speaking from experience (in the north east), never had an issue. They've even let me test an open box gpu in store to make sure it popped up as genuine in cpu-z/nvidia inspector

Not if you are signed into a microsoft account. Then its an electronic license, and you just mary it to your new setup.

I upgraded three systems - MB + CPU. Two allowed me to reactivate. One needed me to contact MS via online support chat, and the tech had to remote into the computer to reset the activation. You will need to show receipt for the MB and CPU.

Man, I live in a place that doesn't have a microcenter. But I am headed to Georgia next week. Sadly they are out of stock next to the place I will be staying. Frown Good post though.

I did the same thing when this same deal was going on in November. I live in AZ and happen to have an upcoming trip to CA, so planned to stop by Micro Center to get the bundle. What I noticed is that each morning the stock would replenish so I was able to to do an online order to have it held for me, each day it would be out of stock by the afternoon. It seems that maybe they have an automatic limit for online orders for each product because I doubt they were getting shipments everyday.

Also had no problems using $25 off coupon.

Always, Micro Center release great deals. But I'm far from Micro Center unfortunately. Can I get price matching from Best Buy?

How common are these Microcenter deals? I need and can afford an almost full build of $800 minus a GPU, but need some time to think. The AMD RX6800 xt I'm watching for can wait until months later.
