You can still use the coupon even if the reloadable card is not activated right? And does it require SSN to sign up?

Yes, you can use the coupon without activating reloadable RedCard. I still have not activated mine since I got it several months ago. The catch is you can not use the coupon for anything Target sells. There's a rather long list of exclusions. I bought clear storage bins with my coupon.

1. just go to target.com and apply for either credit/debit/reloadable card from March 5? Do I need to input any code/coupon during online application to get the 40 off 40 coupon?
2. Assume the amount (prior to any coupon/tax) is $50, I would pay it with coupon and target card to enjoy 5% discount. The calculation is (50-40 coupon)*(1-5% target card discount), or 50*(1-5%) - 40?
