I cleaned it up a bit but some errors exist, but I tried.
I looked at several reputable sites online and concluded that the Debit and Reloable cards do not do a hard pull; SSN is required for a soft pull/identity verification.

NOTE: this starts on SUNDAY.

So have a target red card debit and credit card with 5 authorized users. I noticed that I was not getting the option to apply for the reloadable card. I signed out of my target.com account in order to get the apply for reloadable card option. I filled out application with an email that doesn't have a red card associated and got approved. Girlfriend did the same and just got approved as well. We both have around 800 credit score.

I always used coupon in-store and then tried it online and it never worked twice. So I'm assuming you have to use online first.
Yes you have to use the online code first. In-store is more lenient on the restrictions. In-store last time I was able to get $40 off a Nintendo switch game. Online would say the item didn't qualify. Will see this time around. Worst case I'm getting $80 in free groceries. πŸ˜‚

I have the target red card but I just applied for the reloadable and was approved. The offer that I had for the credit card I only redeemed in store. I just read that you can use the $40 offer in store and online. Is that accurate??

Are there any additional benefits to having the credit card over the debit/reloadable card? Do they send additional coupons and savings to card holders?

Will Target close my reloadable card if I either do not activate nor do not use it for a long time (e.g., one year)?

Or you just close it on your own after getting the coupon. No need to keep it open.

If I apply for the reloadable card, do I have to use that same card to make the $40+ purchase? Or do I just give them the $40 coupon and can use whatever is remaining with a regular credit card?

Just close it after getting your coupon. If you don't Target will be emailing you time to time to remind you to activate it.

You can use any cards you want. Coupon isn't attached to reloadable card.

Looks like the coupon excludes everything. What are people using it on?
