This price makes it a no brainer vs the other Greenworks riding mower @ Costco for $4,700. Now, whether $5k for a riding mower makes sense -- that's another question. These battery operated mowers seem to be 2x the cost of an equivalent gas mower, but I just don't want to deal with the constant engine maintenance of a gas riding mower.
Right now I mow an acre of grass with a walk behind 30" gas mower (Toro Timemaster). I lie to my family that I love the me time of trudging behind that walk behind mower in 90 degree heat for 2.5 hours (~3.5 hours including trimming). This would probably cut me down to 2 hours total (including trimming and using the walk behind for areas this thing can't go - i.e. between some trees and down an drain ditch)? This would also make it fun. 1.5 hours saved a week to spend time with my kids PLUS the time spent mowing being more enjoyable will probably win.
I also look at it compared to hiring someone. I've gotten quotes in the past for weekly service at ~$150/week and I'm guessing those have gone up over the past 4 years since I last asked. Over the course of 30 weeks in my mowing season, this would ~pay for itself.
I'll tell myself I need until 3/27 (when the offer expires) to decide. But inevitably I will talk myself into it as I always do.
Thanks OP.
BTW - question - anyone know how hard it is to clean the deck after a mow? I have to keep the deck of my Timemaster clean or it doesn't work that well.

I am going to wait until the end of the sale also to mull this over.

You mow an acre of land with a walk behind mower, are you insane? LOL
I have about 0.7 acres and I have a riding mower and that's still annoying to me and say it takes me about an hour to mow with that. What these companies charge for smaller lots is a ripoff and depends on the company. My lot is much bigger than my neighbor's and I have had quotes for about $45 a cut but she pays about $90 a cut. My friend's former house had 16 acres of land and he paid $300 a cut. The $300 a cut and $45 a cut for mine are from the same guy too so I would be paying $64 an acre but my friend about $19 an acre.

Greenworks site has the same version of this in 60V for $4,000.
Costco is rated at (80v) version 3.3 acres vs (60v) version 2.5 acres Plus Costco is easy to return if needed.
I get it. But your "easy returns" cost you an extra $1000 in this case.
The biggest question is "is $1000 worth 6 extra batteries and an extra 3 years of warranty on them" and, if you've only got an acre or two, that isn't a big selling point.
There are no actual performance differences between the 60V and 80V on this. None.
Go look. Everything down to RPM of the blades is exactly the same.

$4060 vs $5000 is hardly worth whining over, here
So 4300 vs 4800
Costco is rated at (80v) version 3.3 acres vs (60v) version 2.5 acres Plus Costco is easy to return if needed.
