Did a search on Google shopping for prices. I was briefly excited to see a refurbished unit from "Acme Tools" for $50. Seemed too good to be true and upon further examination it looks like it's another site spoofing the Acme Tools names.

Acmetoolsshop. com (as opposed to acmetools.com which is legit here) registered two weeks ago, with mostly redacted information, and lots of too good to be true prices. Throwing it out there just to warn anybody else. Sad that Google allows such blatant scams in their shopping results.
It's so cute.
I have had one of these for a couple years. Got it for less than $150 from Home Depot on clearance. I use it alot more than I expected, I'd highly recommend.

At this size, I'm not sure this is better than the reciprocating saw we probably all have from some multi-tool deal or single tool deal.

Anyway it sure looks fun but sadly my fun limit tops out at $100.
I've got a hackzall with a pruning blade. It's plenty capable but can be tricky sometimes when the branch you're cutting just wants to wiggle. I would imagine the mini chainsaw is a tad better at transferring cutting power since the blade cuts in only one direction.

I have the full size Milwaukee hanging on my wall by the built in screw hanger on it and it doesn't leak in that position so far. It's been hanging this way for 6 months now when not being used. Sitting flat on a table it leaks like most saws.

Got a pic?

I've used both for tree work, and this is much better than the Hackzall. A handsaw could technically do any job a Hackzall could do, just a lot slower and more frustrating if you're doing the same thing a lot. Removing 1 garbage disposal? Handsaw. Removing garbage disposals from 250 apartment units? Hackzall. Removing 1 branch? Hackzall. Dismantling a downed tree? This.

Hadn't tried that. I just put my Milwaukee chain saw in a plastic tote. That way no worries when it leaks.

Got one a few months back for 139 this is not that great of a deal price
That's great but where was that because unless it's repeatable, then this is still a great price

You ever try cutting trees with a reciprocating saw? It doesn't work. The chips get trapped. Even with a "limbing blade".

Reciprocating saws don't dissipate heat or sawdust nearly as well as a chain does. This'll cut much better.
Reciprocating saws have a much narrower blade though, so generate less heat and less saw dust while cutting the same limb, and require less battery life to boot.

Works fine for me on small trees/limbs. I.e. 6 inches.

Not sure why the thumbs down. I covet this saw also but think it doesn't meet the $156 plus tax usefulness for me either. $125 sounds slick, $156 does not.
Yep, this is one handy tool for those quick cuts. A $125 price would be the clincher. Maybe BF? For now, the Sawzall that I got works for my current pruning tasks.

Same here -- hackzall fuel with pruning blade seems to accomplish everything this tool does at the expense of some speed but with the advantage of zero maintenance.

This, unless your plan is to steal catalytic converters
