be aware:

a. JB is not an authorized reseller, so it's possible your warranty claims *may* get denied
b. these kits have been available at around $115 many times. i paid $107 for this kit at maxtool (an authorized dealer) back in december.

they are 21700 sized Samsung T30 cells. each battery has 10 of them inside. bare T30s sell for about $6 a pop in quantities under 100. that's $120 worth of batteries alone, with no BMS, case or anything else.
so by your own stupid logic, this is a good deal.

Only if you have high power or fuel tools like saws, sawzall, bandsaw ,etc, ts a must in my opinion. the 5ah will power them fine yes but you're not using the tool to its full extent.its a very noticeable power difference

Just curious if "high output" is worth the extra bucks? Bought 2 5Ah regular milwaukee batteries for $107. If yes I would probably go with HO version

I believe It makes a difference in most FUEL tools and larger or power-draining tools, like blowers/string trimmers. The battery should run cooler and stronger. The price difference is up to your use case. It most likely won't make a huge difference if you use it for drills or other small hand-held power pools. Can correct me if I'm wrong.

Is this a good price? Does HD typically match? Anything to combine this with to make it even a better deal?

Don't know if this coupon will work, HOK72C7B3AS for another $10. Sign up with there text newsletter if it doesn't and they'll send you a code. Yeah I know, I hate signing up for these things too. But if yoh don't mind, it's another $10 off.

I have an xc 8.0 ho battery that charged to 3/4 and then to 1/2. I had a single 18650 battery charger that I connected wires to it and then to the battery, and it's taking almost a week to get it back to 100%. It's reading three bars now!

What most people don't understand is the additional "power" of the tool is actually battery dependent. Independent testing has confirmed this as well. So yes, the high output matters.

This is most likely a fire hazard. I don't know much about the internals of these battery packs, but it's very likely you're over charging a single lithium ion cell, and some of that is leaking over into the other cells. That's why it's taking so long.

My fuel circular saw performs better using 3.0 HO batteries than the standard 5.0 XC batteries. You'd see the same running an auger bit in your drill through treated lumber or installing a timberlock screw using an impact driver. For household tasks it's not needed, but for power and torque hungry applications, you do get more out of the Fuel tools.

Nope, I checked the other cells, they haven't moved a bit. The charger charges to 4.1v and stops. I've just been poorly connecting it. It's my first time. There's a coating on the batteries ends and looks like flaking teflon from a cooking pan.

You may have a bad battery? (or charger)

Milwaukee cs is not good and not a fan of dealing with them. It's a pain in the past. Also the bat is out of warranty. Half dead battery is rather useless so why not give it a chance again?
