Once set up, a great deal for a family. Getting through the customer service to being set up can be frustrating.

I've discovered the hard way that Metro CS is even worse than cricket.

Cricket c/s is miles better than Metro. Easy to sim swap too vs Metro where one has to call c/s possibly do online but they require IMEI info and if not approved, it's no go. Quick and easy with Cricket without contacting c/s.

I walked out from metro with 2 new 12 minis at 112 each with the se2020 trade in. Back then it was 1 mos after their announcement. That is the type of deal i am looking forward to hit the physical office.

Mine shipped an hour ago and I was able to order a second one. This is a very underrated deal.

If I'm already a cricket customer can I just put the SIM card from the old phone in this new one? Or do I have to go through the whole activation process with the new SIM card?

It is actually vice-versa. New sim that they shipped never worked for me and I put my old one from old phone - worked like a charm with no manipulations.
New sim was giving me an error while activating process on the website - but order said it is already activated, but still it didn't make calls after sitting for a while.

I'd go beyond and say this is an excellent deal for existing users just because there are hardly any phone deals for us.

I just got mine today is 2-day shipping. Brand new. AppleCare is $149 which is almost as expensive as this phone. Considering getting it.
