I bought his back when it was $59 at Amazon. The controller is not the Phison e12 anymore. Based on what I got and what people have posted on Reddit, the current version is rts5762 based with 128mb dram and sk hynix tlc flash.

thanks for posting this OP Smilie .. if anyone's interested in a review the tom's hardware folks seemed to like it

https://www.tomshardware.com/revi...,6181.html

and for anyone who is interested in this (there's a raging debate about whether or not you need DRAM ) it apparently does have DRAM

techpowerup also liked it

https://www.techpowerup.com/revie...sd/15.html

from my quick glance online overall it looks like reviews are good for it at least from the point of view of websites that professionally review PC hardware for a living

I find myself wondering if it would be a good boot C/Windows drive for a PC

camelcamelcamel says the amazon price is an average of $70 normally

https://urlhasbeenblocked/product/B07PHQ6Q1D

and if someone is interested in paying the $5 or $6 extra to take advantage of amazon's return policy (I've heard newegg can be iffy about returns sometimes.. though in all fairness all my newegg returns have gone smoothly and I've never once had a problem with them paying for return shipping or giving a refund, going off complaints others have aired online about newegg )

https://www.amazon.com/TEAMGROUP-...C80&sr=1-3

You could also add it to your amazon wish list with the note " check newegg's prices too" Stick Out Tongue especially come the Black Friday deals

Endurance of 1660TBW? Is that a typo? Insanely high.

I've bought two of these and both have failed under moderate use.

One was used as a game drive and it just stopped responding after 60% of the drive was full.

The other was used in a system that has hundreds of 1Mb images written to it per week. The drive was less than 30% full and it started not responding at all in the system without multiple reboots. It was in service for less than 6 months.

I'm not going to be buying these again. The use case I had two of these in wasn't demanding or excessive and the drives did not last.

Saw this price yesterday but passed since I got 3 of them for $58 a month ago, so far, they are running good as ProxMox VM storage. Lots of NVME SSD deals this last week, might grab a few more for backups, not sure if the prices will keep coming down.

If you're referring to Intel 670P then yes, it is a good amount better.

The Intel 670p has 256mb cache, but lower endurance. I own both, and I would still go Intel because they are more consistent with the parts used inside(controller, ram, etc)

If you value your data = Intel
If not , you can go with this one.

$11 more ($61 currently) for PCIe Gen4 and 1800 TBW if you care.

In this price range, it would be QLC Intel, so no, not really. The opposite in fact (1TB Intel 670p is 370 TBW). And they're out of the SSD business...

I forgot they're not in the business anymore. I recently gave up trying to find a way to check for updated firmware for the one Intel SSD I have (it came with my laptop). Not that there's anything wrong with the firmware, but that might be a reason people would shy away from an Intel SSD.
