Spectrum Mobile Customers: S23 for for ~$200, Pixel 7 $300

If you have Spectrum for internet service then you can also sign up for their Verizon MVNO mobile service. The service itself is a great deal at 30/mo per line for unlimited data (and no additional fees) or 40/mo per line for unlimited plus...either of which are a steal IMO. We switched to spectrum mobile from verizon about 9 months ago.

anyway, if you're a spectrum mobile customer, they're currently offering $600 off any S23 phone when you trade something in. You still get some trade-in value on top of that (though they wouldnt take a pixel 3, galaxy s7, iphone 6 etc as trade-in, but most places wont). They gave me $13 for my Galaxy S10e trade-in...so I got $613 off of the S23. All S23 phones appear to be available (all models, colors, storage combinations).

You can also get a Pixel 7 for $300, with no trade-in (or get a greater discount with a trade-in.

The Pixel 7 is just $300 (pro is $400 I think) which basically matched the FP deal on Pixel7 through Mint Mobile (though without a free 6 months of 4GB/mo service...if that matters then check the mint mobile deal). This phone also appears to be cheaper as mint mobile was adding some service or processing fee of ~$20 when I checked out and spectrum is only adding tax.

Note: The $600 discount on the S23 is in the form of an account credit, so you have to pay (and pay tax on) the full cost of the phone.

Requires a new line

Promotion requires customers to trade-in qualifying device, add a new line, purchase and activate a new phone. If new phone paid in full, credit applied to purchase. If new phone financed, credit applied to bill in pro-rated increments for the duration of the Device Payment Plan. If the final trade-in value exceeds the cost of the new device, the difference will be refunded to your Spectrum Mobile Account. Trade-in device must have a value greater than $1. Visit spectrummobile.com/tradein for details. Restrictions apply. Subject to change.

Ahh the fine print… in any event, I'd rather wash my face with a cheese grater than give another dime to Spectrum.

I'm unfamiliar Spectrum mobile service. Do you say this because it's bad customer service, overpriced, poor coverage, all of the above? Thanks.

It's the company. Spectrum sat on their old cable infrastructure for decades in my area and went as far as to sue the local government for attempting to install a municipal fiber network 8 years ago. Thankfully fidium came in and put up fiber so they are bleeding customers and halved their stupid pricing but people still don't care because spectrum are a$$hoe and can't offer more than 35 megabits uploading and double the latency for gaming.

Also the price gouging and terrible tv packages... I don't care how good spectrum mobile is, I won't give them money anymore now that I have a choice

I've had Spectrum internet for at least 5yrs. In my area only a few times it was down for a few hrs. I'm getting over 200 mbps probably get 300 if wired. I've been with T-Mobile 8yrs on old Simple Choice plan. I've been thinking on switching to Spectrum to save some money but I read a fair share of issues with Spectrum Mobile. Probably not worth the hassle.

I tried to port my wife's # and iphone 14 to spectrum. They were going to offer us a completely free line.

I got hit with an unspoken $30 activation fees. Hours of working with technical support on getting her number ported, and eventually just gave up and stuck with US Mobile. If they can't even port and activate like a decent company - I can only imagine how bad the rest of the customer service would be.

I've read it's best to go into a Spectrum store. I've had my same number for 22yrs. My dad never been a tech person. He's had same 3G T-Mobile flip phone for a long time. Best I stay with what's working.
