I agree the price is good but Amazon is risky. High probability of returned products marked as new.

Just asking, not saying you are wrong. But if Amazon doesn't allow returns who is tampering with the boxes?

Great price, picked one up. $75 is a great price on a set box, usually only see it that low in November / December holiday deals.

Trash set that was only good for Mystical Archives. Sees no play in any format so unless you must have your Harry Potter draft experience, you're better off buying singles of cards that will hold value.

Yes, theres people that can open packs of cards, take out anything good, replace with poor cards, and then re-seal the pack looking pretty new. its too much of a risk to buy cards from anyone but a card shop really. they could do the same, but their whole business is based on that reputation.

and the fact lesson cards cant be used in commander..

Check your local dump. A lot of these companies are loaded on inventory and writing down the excess this quarter. It was all over Reddit that a dumpster full of NIB MTG cards was found by one retail employee.

Apparently Funko is preparing to do the same thing.

Risky buying this off amazon. 30% of the MTG related goods I bought (booster boxes, dragon shield sleeves, structure decks/precons) have arrived damaged and wrapping was opened. 10% of them have been resealed and tampered with. Also, Amazon doesn't allow refunds for cards by default, so if you get a reopened/resealed product, prepare for a long chat w/ support to maybe get your money back.

If I buy a box, and save it for 10 years, sealed. How much could I expect the box to be worth? Also how much does a box of Arabian Nights be going for these days? Smilie

Resellers. Anyone can sell (nearly) any item through the official amazon listing if you're ungated, which normally just means you have to show an invoice that you purchased the product from the original company or a licensed distributor. And you only have to do that once.

thanks. i'm just trying to understand here. in this case, it is sold by and shipped from amazon correct? i understand if it comes from a third party seller, but if sold by and shipped from amazon, does the same risk apply?

I just got this in the mail today. I got 47 rares, 3 of them lands, and 7 mythic. Box wasn't crushed and was sealed well. Was shipped in a bag though.

I recorded opening the packaging in case there was an issue with damaged / opened cards. All seemed good.

The same risk applies. Amazon combines inventory at the warehouse from prime eligible resellers and Amazon to make shipping and distribution more efficient. The majority of inventory is probably still Amazon, but there is still a risk.
