Soundcore Motion Boom would be the one you would want instead. I have both the Flip 6 and Select Pro aka Motion Boom with LED lights. There's definitely more bass from the Soundcore and loudness. I like the Flip 6 for it's portability. Still an impressive loud speaker for its size.
I have the latest version of the JBL Charge. It's perfect size and super loud. The soundcore one is probably good also but waaay too big for playing my kid's music in the backyard.
Probably more equivalent to the Jbl boombox or partybox for turning up big time. All of which would be fair game at a skatepark.
I had the flip 5 or 6 but returned it. It's decent but the charge has a fuller sound and bigger bass. Only advantage is it's size. I would take something like this in a backpack or suitcase to play in a hotel room or shower.
Thank you very much, for the reply and the feedback. I really appreciate it. I will check out that speaker that you suggested and see if it's something that I might want to buy for my son, to be able to listen to at the skate park.

fakes look good, but they end up having inferior battery or circuitry
and no manufacturer warranty at all.

that said, i just bought an oontz at a historic low price,
so it's possible a lot of speakers are being liquidated if
they do not hardware support new WiSA standards.
