CDKeys[cdkeys.com] has The Last of Us: Part 1 (PC Digital Pre-order) on sale for $40.59.
CDKeys[cdkeys.com] also has The Last of Us: Part 1 Digital Deluxe Edition (PC Digital Pre-order) on sale for $49.19. Note: Pre-order keys are delivered upon game release. Activates on Steam.
Game Synopsis:
In a ravaged civilization, where infected and hardened survivors run rampant, Joel, a weary protagonist, is hired to smuggle 14-year-old Ellie out of a military quarantine zone. However, what starts as a small job soon transforms into a brutal cross-country journey.
Includes the complete The Last of Us single-player story and celebrated prequel chapter, Left Behind, which explores the events that changed the lives of Ellie and her best friend Riley forever.
The deluxe edition does not include anything relevant to the story or additional gameplay, it only includes early unlocks of abilities and weapons and a few skins. Arguably it could break progression and make early game encounters too easy. Anyway, not a worthwhile expense if all you want to do is experience the game as intended.
Preordering also rewards a few crafting items.
Quotes from Steam:
"The Last of Us™ Part I Digital Deluxe Edition includes the following content:
Early unlock of the followings in-game items:
Increased Crafting Speed Skill
Increased Healing Speed Skill
9mm Reload Speed Increase Upgrade
Rifle Clip Capacity Increase Upgrade
Explosive Arrows Gameplay Modifier
Dither Punk Filter
Speedrun Mode
Six Weapon Skins: Black Gold 9mm Pistol, Silver Filigree 9mm Pistol, Rubber Tactical Shotgun, Sculpted Oak Shotgun, Arctic White Bow, Carbon Black Bow"
It states that the filter and Speedrun mode are early unlocks, but I'd venture to guess that they're exclusive. Still, not exactly important to most players.
I've purchased and beaten every console version of this game. I'll be getting this when it's $20 or less. Awesome game!
This is a short, fairly mediocre game with no replayability that will not be improved by remastering. Probably should be $30, $15 on sale. For $5 shouldn't be passed up.
was disappointed to find out you don't get the code right away. I understand the game isn't out yet but could of still given a code to have it registered on STEAM I would think.

if it is just mediocre why would you bother playing it at all with so many great games out there?
Torn between this and the remastered PS5 version… I assume performance won't be noticeably different on PS5 vs. PC w/ i9 9900k and RTX 3080, hence the dilemma. Biggest screen wins?
Wait for the PS6 version. I hear that one will be epic-er

Xbox fanboy angry that Xbox has zero exclusive games & no player base.
That's a big RIPOFF. This game is less than $20 on gaming console such as PS4, etc. Stop overcharging people.
Remastered or not, it is still a big ripoff at $40.
Someone fails to understand what makes a remaster a remaster & a remake a remake, two completely different things. Someone also doesn't understand game development. $40 is the perfect price, anything more than $40 is a ripoff.
It's a great game. It's amazing to just watch a friend or family member play it even. It's pretty much on rails and has a lot of wonderful interactions that happen... It's pretty lengthy as well (probably will take you 16-25 hours)... It's also one of the best opening sequences to a game ever...
I think it's best played on a couch with a gamepad on a large screen TV.

It doesn't matter if we understand that or not. At the end of the day, we are buying a product. What are we getting with the remake that's different than the remaster?
1. Remake has Huge graphic improvement
2. Remake has Accessibility features
3. Remake has More settings and game modes
4. Remastered has Multiplayer support
I don't care for the accessibility features, nor the extra settings and game modes.
I don't care about multiplayer for this particular game either.
So really, for me, it only comes down to the graphics. This game has a lot of beautiful visuals, assets and design. I'd pay extra for the better graphics on this particular game for sure.
I'd give that a $20 value. So if the remastered is $10, I'd value this game at $30. And since I have the remaster, I'd only buy the remake for $20... But that's just me and my personal preference.
(Also, I wouldn't buy it on a PC unless the PC was hooked up to the living room TV.)
I can also see myself playing through this game more than once. I can also see myself showing off this game to other people.
I'm torn between the PS5 disc version (so I can sell it or hand it off to friends?) or the PC version (I bought a used 6800XT) ... 40$ for PC is better than 70$ for the disc.
Holy crap! I just checked the Playstation store and they're charging 69.99$ for a freaking digital version?! Looks like I'm going for the Steam key
