Yeah I hate (at my airport):
Largest selection of destinations by an insanely huge margin.
Best on time performance.
Always on a 737, never a regional jet nor turbo prop.
2 free checked bags per passenger.
Same day flight changes for a-list.

Yeah, southwest really is the worst...

I hate free cancellations and flight credits that never expire.

Southbest ๐Ÿ˜. Any other airline change your flight might as well burn the ticket ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…. And of course 2 free bags sucka.

says the trips have to be booked within a window... so if you booked a ticket in Feb, for example, it wouldn't count because the window for the promo is 3/1. So, you'd need to rebook ... might luck out too, some flights are cheaper.
Took your advice and checked my previously booked flights. I was able to get an earlier flight to Cancun and saved 8900 points! Thank you so much...

As with any airlines, I don't fly at the busiest times of the year or winter with unpredictable weather.

But all in all, Southwest is my hands down airline to fly domestically any day.

Southwest is solid. I received free A-list on their last promotion which I now have all year since I had two flights in the promotion window. Love the automatic early seating number feature the best. I'll just sayโ€ฆ I was one of the customers burned by their holiday cancellation debacle. However, after about 3-4 weeks of waiting, Southwest issued us a cash reimbursement which paid for our whole trip including last minute flights on another carrier. Love that Southwest did the right thing and took a massive hit to make us whole. I'll continue my business with them.

What about if you booked in March, but before activating? Can't re-book because flight price went up

Do not re-book! Activate the promotion and call Southwest and tell them to rebook it for you instead. They will honor whatever the price you had purchase the tickets before.
I called and they said they could only rebook at the more expensive price. ๐Ÿ˜ข

I agree. People that don't like Southwest either don't live in an area that has a lot of flights and haven't figured out how to make it work in your favor. The companion pass and A-List are HUGE to enjoying Southwest. It automatically checks me in and same day standby so I always book a later flight for work and walk on to the early flight when seats show availability and I'm still A-61before even family boarding. ๐Ÿ˜€

Now if they could only fix the pre-board abusers that use it as free early bird checkin.

Guys, stop selling southwest. Let them go to their preferred airlines so more "wanna get away" tickets for us.

My airport is a southwest hub and I dont fly other airlines unless my work pays for it (or if I have miles to burn). I say it's true that southwest was the worst during the holiday meltdown but it's also true that they are one of the bests more often than not.

They know about the preboard abusers but unable to do anything about it unfortunately.

I once was in IAD with the steak sauce and I saw a person literally sprint to the gate agent and ask if they were boarding yet because he was going to get a preboard.. I am sympathetic to those with genuine disabilities but there is massive abuse here and also on deplaning. On another recent flight a young lady wearing extremely fancy designer clothes and handbags got a preboard obviously because she was on the tall side, height isn't a disability or mobility impairment last I checked, she should be buying upgraded boarding if she needs bulk head. It really is out of hand.

Maybe you missed this.

The major airlines offer no-fee cancellations now: American, Alaska, United, JetBlue, Delta. The exception is if you buy the special "basic economy" fare which either can't be changed or incurs a fee. Basic is intended to compete with bare bones carriers.

I like Southwest for the nonstops they offer where others don't, and their flexible policies, but I like AA for other reasons too.

What good are SW points if you are not a frequent flyer?

This is YMMV. Just wasted two phone calls and got a hard no from them even though my flights are in March. So much for any good will earned from their recent issues.
