Beware...the battery drains when gaming...while plugged in! Dropped 17% in 30 minutes playing Days Gone. The power adapter isn't big enough.

As far as the system goes though...it's pretty snappy. Ran Days Gone at 60fps on high with very few drops. Screen isn't horrible and the temps were both under 80 the whole time.

In the Lenovo Vantage software, do you happen to have the Conservation Mode on for the battery? My understanding is if it's above 20% (or slightly higher), it will drain while plugged in to extend the life of the battery. Only once it hits a certain %, then it will start charging again up to around 80%.

Just a hunch.

I picked up one over the weekend

it does come with a 170W charger
Added another 8GB stick on the open slot
upgraded the SSD to 2TB (there is a second m2 slot, which made clone easy)
Battery life is weak (2 hours of web browsing)
Does have mux switch (can disable dedicated GPU)
Completely silent when web browsing
Using as a desktop replacement and one thing that I have not figured out yet, is how to turn it on without opening the lid

I bought the HP Victus with GTX 1650 for $499 first, but returned it due to fan noise. For $100 more I got RTX 3050, a second m2 slot, and a quiet laptop.
What RAM did you buy? I'm thinking about picking up this deal and was looking for a good deal for some RAM

Any DDR4 3200Mhz CL22 will work. I would recommend a 16GB stick instead a 8GB since it's only $10 more

Why would the laptop battery be weak with it?
I meant to say short battery life

Value wise, which is better? This or the recent deal on MSI sword 15.
https://www.bestbuy.com/site/msi-...Id=6464556

I know the MSI sword has an i7 but 11th generation and a rtx 3050 ti, but is it worth the extra 170 or should I get the lenovo ideapad. I generally play games like overwatch 2, fortnite.. Thanks.
