Running a Yamaha rx575 and Klipsch RP 5.1 system in a open concept area with tall ceilings. Love the Klipsch towers, and just like the 12sw sub. Not sure if it's worth upgrading the sub, receiver, or just fine tuning my current setup.
A lot better.
That said- depending how open your concept is you might still be disappointed.
The story I always tell is back in the day I had a house with a big open floorplan on the first floor, open to the entire first floor, and the stairs, and a loft on 2nd floor.... then 2nd floor also had a couple of closed-off bedrooms and bathrooms.
There was a stereo system in the living room downstairs, and one of the upstairs rooms used as an office/media area.
At the time I had a Dayton Audio 12" sub....which was very well known as an excellent super-cheap sub... ($99 and most folks said you'd need to spend 5x to get something noticeably better.
But they also said it's actually worth spending a lot more for a proper home theater experience.
I was very dubious.
But...SVS had the free 45 day in home trial with free return shipping so I figured why not find out? I ordered a PB2000.
First A/B testing was downstairs in the open living room. And the SVS was noticably better. But not like jaw dropping better. CERTAINLY not many-times-the-price better. Just somewhat cleaner and maybe a touch deeper. I was underwhelmed.
But then it was trying to fill a space that if you included the stairs and 2nd floor loft was like 10,000 cubic feet.
Next I took it upstairs, to the office/media room that was only about 1600 cubic feet and did the A/B test.
That WAS jaw dropping. Incredibly so.
The best example was one of the test scenes I used was the plane crash from 2004s Flight of the Phoenix.
With the Dayton sub it sounded like a really good recording of a plane crash.
With the SVS, it felt like you were in a plane crash.
Night and day experience....and I kept (and still have to this day, though it's my secondary sub in a smaller room now) the PB2000.
But I didn't get one for downstairs....wouldn't get a much better sub that actually COULD fill a massive space for a couple more years after that (and it wasn't SVS, you can do better for less $ in that class...but you're going to be paying several grand at least, depending how huge a space you're talking)
Even then room correction does not fix placement, room & environment issues.
Unless you plan on making adjustments often the pro version isn't that much of a benefit.

Edit: I meant Capital One shopping rewards.

But 1 sealed SVS in my bedroom is more than enough
