Porting in a phone number just changes the actual number associated with the free line. So you would change the phone number associated with the free line by porting in a number but the line itself will remain free.

Does anyone knows if I open a new account all together with 3 lines, can I port numbers between accounts? I have a really old grand father plan which is not eligible for any promotions and cannot add any lines. I rather open a new account, trade in a phone to get a newer phone and then port or swap numbers between accounts?

I am curious who else has gotten as sweet a deal as mine or if I just lucked out over the years. I had the $15 byod plan from sprint then added a free line unlimited. Total with taxes was like $25. Then when I was forced to TMobile they flat out gave me two free pixel 6s, then later unlocked them randomly. Then I price locked in the 25/m home internet to boot. So two lines unlimited, free pixels, and home internet for $50 all taxes and charges included after autopay discounts. Also a $100 gift card for the home internet.

T-Mobile has given out a bunch of free lines a couple of years ago. For those who got in at just the right time, they got *amazing* deals. You can port a number from one account to another one. It's called change of responsibility. But the port-in number can only work with new line on your new account, not an existing line.

How much do you pay for your 12 line Magenta Max ? I have 12 lines on ONE and have been thinking of changing plans, but afraid that they will screw up and never be able to go back.

Probably... I'm grandfathered on a legacy ( Simple Choice Unlimited) plan and pay a flat $10 ( for the entire account no matter how many lines ) for unlimited international calling ( mobile or landline ) and free unlimited txt.. One of the reasons I refuse to switch to the POS Magenta plans!

Why are you still with with Magenta Plus? Reach out to T-mo and ask them if they could "upgrade" you to Magenta Max at same price since Magenta Plus was replaced with Magenta Max plan. I did that about a year ago and rep hooked me up. Actually, my bill even with down about $5 a month. YMMV
