And its dual purpose too! Once Fluffy is done with it, just let it dry out for a day and fire it up in the smoker!

Lumberjack and Bear mountain are my top 2. Costco kirkland are 14.99 for 40lbs, they are the best deal and quality as well.

This is my go to pellet for stuff that is not on sale or a deal. Cheapest you can get and I've never had a single issue with them. Walmart also has select blends on clearance right now for $5/20LB bag if you can find them in your store.

This price is NOT a deal at all.

I've tried so many and Lumber Jack is the closest I've found to traditional smoker flavor. Their competition blend and their hickory charcoal are my go-to. The hickory charcoal might be my favorite all around pellet for most things.

Has anyone tried using these wood pellets as medium for growing mushrooms?
The summary is that you can, but there are strong differences of opinion on whether it's a good idea, and most mushroom strains are very picky about which woods they'll grow in. Some people say it's never okay, some people say it's okay as long as you sterilize them, and some people just say "f*** it."

Competition Blend is the same price on Amazon [amazon.com]. Save an extra $.50 with SS.
Yeah, I posted the Amazon deal, too; it just didn't get as much traction as this deal.

Bear Mountain are available at Academy Sports for $9.97 for 20#, everyday price. Their competition blends are more expensive.. I mostly use the hickory and pecan. Great pellets.

Found this on AMAzon
"I heard of using this to replace cat litter because it doesn't smell and it absorbs better than traditional clay litter, it's amazing it works so good and the litter never smells and it's so easy to clean and way more affordable"

Who knew?
I always used pellets as bedding for rabbits. Works perfectly, and back then it was $2/bag not $10+

I get mine at Rural King. Blain's Farm and Fleet has them for $11. You can look at Lumber Jacks website for a list of local distributors. I was paying $25 a bag to have it shipped but found a local supplier for half the price. https://lumberjackretailers.com/

That is a deal, thanks! I'm just looking for something to burn in a small fire pit or in a pinch chuck in my smoker if I run out of smoke wood chunks. I grabbed the Lowes bags but I'll use these in the future if I like burning the pellets in the firepit.

Just FYI there was a big discussion awhile back (thinking last year) that Lumber Jack pellets sold at Rural King are no longer the same quality as if they were purchased elsewhere. Kind of a black label for Rural King type of deal I guess.

That said, I would agree with most here that Bear Mountain are a good sub if you don't have a Lumber Jack source nearby. I get mine from Farm & Home Supply.

Also Sam's Club sells a "Smokehouse" pellet that are pretty darn good as a cheap all-arounder. I've been very happy with them as my base "hopper-pellet" and often run them in the grill and something with a lil more flavor in my smoker tubes (mesquite, hickory, etc).
