Stopped by my local HD looking for this kit. BS said they had 8 and they had 4 in the clearance section. There was a manager up at the front with a table that had a bunch of clearance stuff on it (including the battery kit). She asked me if I was interested in any of it and I told her I came here for the battery kit and she then crossed out the $85 price and marked it $55. This was definitely ymmv on the additional discount and thanks op for the super sweet deal.

The LSA has been changed to include individual batteries, even those NOT in a kit. However, you must buy them from Home Depot or an authorized dealer (as far as I know, only Direct Tool Outlet is the only other authorized dealer in the USA). If you do get them from DTO, they must be the 'factory blemished' ones in order to qualify for the LSA.

There is a way around that. I've bought nib unused 1/2" ratchet off EBAY and got the LSA approved

The department manager helped me locate them and mentioned another member was able to grab for $55 and just asked nicely if they could possibly match it and showed the manager the post. Didn't even flinch.

Seems like these MAX batteries are the latest version? Any catch here? I have a couple of regular non-Max 4Ah that work well for me, but it's never bad to have more batteries!
