1500W would be 12.5 amps, which would work on a 15 amp breaker. 1800W would be 15 amps which would overload a 15 amp breaker and generally be safer on a 20 amp breaker.

Ditto, that is why you rarely see an electric space heater above 1500 watts as well.

Other than the looks, not sure what makes this kettle worth double a non-steampunk model.

Most important in electric kettle is power which defines how fast it will boil water, this one has 1500W, which is good. I still have an older kettle, maybe 10y old, that has 1800W.
These days the new standard seems to be 1500W, not sure why, probably safety and ESG.
