Makita 2pc combo kit offers the sub-compact XMT04ZB multi-tool as a free gift. Should be hackable. I know it's been lower in the past but this seems like a good deal if you need it now. I have this multi-tool and I really like it. Make sure you understand StarLock before buying.

I need the hammer drill so thinking of doing this. Already have an old makita compact impact driver though.
Wondering if I'd get more use out of the angle grinder than the multi-tool though.

This is the best multi-tool on market, cutting wood like butter. Don't be fooled by the "sub-compact" in name, it is way more powerful and easier to use than XMT03.

The only issue for many people is that it only takes Starlock blades, which doesn't have any cheapo options there. And there is another issue for some of the OCD people, since it is "sub-compact" line so the teal color scheme is missing. I had to spend $225 to buy DTM52 (same model with classic teal-black color scheme) from Japan.

With this hack, you would pick the main item which has the lowest price, which would be the "Makita 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless 2-Piece Combo Kit (Hammer Drill/Impact Driver) 4.0Ah" at $370 with the Multi-Tool as the free item. When both items are placed in the cart, you'll see that the price for the main tool is $224.79 and the Multi-Tool is $145.21.

Correct. That's typically how the Home Depot hack works. You pay for the bundle, then return one of the items in order to get the deal.

Dont get tha x lock as it will need their own discs, you cant use standard discs in it.
