RE4 is one of the best and most influential games ever.

I fully agree; those are my favorites as well.

The one with the most replay value is Revelations 1 in Raid Mode. I've spent hundreds of hours in it.

Revelations 2's Raid Mode is ridiculously easy, so much so that I'd say it's not even worth it. The campaign mode story is pretty good.

Stay away from 6. I've tried four times over the years to get into it. The last time was with a friend so we could laugh at it, but it was just sad and unfun in any way.

Life is far too short to waste time on playing Resident Evil 6.

Unfortunately, no. I just booted it up last weekend to check since it's been a while since I played it and it didn't have the ability to point with the joy cons. I even Googled it to see if I was just missing the setting and found out it's a port of the PS2 version so no pointing.

Although I LOVE me some RE4, it was brought to my attention that the aim mechanics could have been better. While aiming, you cannot strafe, duck, move backward or forward. This never crossed my mind until it was brought up. Now the gameplay seems a bit off. Your welcome
I may be in the minority here, but I actually love the controls in RE4. Knowing you can't move/dodge/block makes you stand your ground and adds to the feeling of desperation when you're cornered and facing a large group of enemies.

Easily in my top 3 games of all time and the only one I've played more than twice.

You are correct… but just like the limited inventory space, the limitation has long been considered a positive addition to the tension of firefights. Very methodical, makes the player have to decide when to cut and run instead of fighting. Also, consider that the RE characters (except in the bombastic 6) are not super soldiers. In real life, sure, you CAN move while shooting, but usually at great cost to steady aim. To hit your mark, most trained people stop and take a proper shooting stance.

At any rate, people generally felt RE4 struck a good balance between action and pacing your shots, but it was never intended to be an arena shooter like Doom or Quake (which were well within gaming capabilities at the time of release). It's been awhile since I played, but I thought there WAS a quick backward hop (and 180° spin) move.

Sadly, no. Resident Evil 4 remake will not be launching on the Nintendo Switch. Players will be able to dive into the remake via PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC.
