I still have my OG 2600. You can pick real ones up on ebay, with games, that work, for less than this.

Maybe the bricks are "special" and worth the coin.......the little dioramas are kinda cool.

Wasnt it mostly the Boomer generation that would buy this console. Gen X were like 13yrs old at the oldest and they couldnt afford to buy them… 😜😜

Cool set but damn thats expensive.

Boomer parents bought the 2600 for their gen-x kids a lot of the time. Christmas, birthday, etc. The 2600 was a lot of money back then but most electronics were expensive then. It's just how it was.

As an early era millennial, I can tell you that this system was not really in our lexicon. I can't think of anyone in my cohort that owned one, we were solidly the NES generation. My late gen x cousin had an Atari, no idea what model, and all the games seemed dated by 1987. Even Atari says they were pretty well done as top dog by '83.
