You can not have more than 1 Sapphire card at the same time, and you can not get a new Sapphire signup bonus if you received one on any Sapphire card in the last 48 months.
For anyone debating on whether to go for this, know that the all time high is 100k bonus points, making this a very lucrative opportunity.
You can- I've seen YMMV reports about how many days you need to wait between cancelling and new application though.

Also things to keep in mind:

Use any credits you might have on existing card you haven't used yet.
Insure you move your UR points to a different card before closing old one.

maybe the freedom unlimited would be a better option?

If you don't have an unlimited at all, AND you travel enough to get significant (ie point transfers to partners) value out of UR points, then yes.... as it'll get you anywhere from ~2.1 to 10 cents cash-equivalent-value per dollar on your non-category spend

But if you treat it like a cashback card, or only get 1-1.25x in the regular or CSP portal then no the unlimited sucks for those people since you can do better with straight cashback cards in non-category spend.

If i change cards it will won't hurt my credit card length history right? That's the whole idea?

Generally yes downgrading means credit line, credit history, etc all stay with the card.

History's not the WHOLE idea, maintaining the added limit is also of benefit for keep utilization low too.

(closed cards stay on your report for 7-10 years, so really that part is less important to most than the available credit bit)

CSP has a $50 every 6 months hotel credit (must book through Chase Travel portal) and has a $15 per quarter instacart credit (plus 6 months of free instacart plus if you haven't already used it)
$50 hotel credit per anniversary year, not six months. Unless you can point to a link that contradicts Chase's own page on the product.

No you're absolutely right, somehow my brain conflating the 6 month instacart thing with it while writing-- I've gone back and corrected my original post- thanks for catching the error.

Thanks for the replies. But wouldn't you be able to transfer UR points to partners regardless of what card generated the UR points?

You'd have to transfer the points to a paid chase card to be able to transfer them to a partner.... you can't transfer points if you only hold "free" chase cards.

But the point in the post you quote is around the fact the Unlimited is only worth having at all if you DO use UR points for travel...Because 1.5x UR can be quite decent for non-category spend if you use em for travel via transfers... otherwise you'll be able to beat it with other cashback cards that can net you 2-2.625% straight cash on non-category stuff.

My girlfriend has chase freedom unlimited ; can she transfer her points to my Chase Sapphire Preferred ? If so, is there a limit on how many points and/or how many times ?

Another question: if I apply for the CSP and get approved, after how long can I apply for a chase freedom unlimited (to make the most out of my points). I know the 5/24 rule and currently I am at 2/24. With CSP I would go to 3/24.

Sorry there are 2 people asking this question but I did not find any answer so here again...

Does In-branch mean I need to already have a checking/saving account with Chase to get the 80k bonus points?
TIA

You are eligible as long as YOU didn't get the bonus within 48 months. Being an authorized user doesn't count against you in terms of bonus eligibility.
I received my bonus in 4/2019. Does that mean I can't apply till 5/2019 or just that I can't meet the criteria for the new bonus till 5/2019.
