You can not have more than 1 Sapphire card at the same time, and you can not get a new Sapphire signup bonus if you received one on any Sapphire card in the last 48 months.
For anyone debating on whether to go for this, know that the all time high is 100k bonus points, making this a very lucrative opportunity.
You can- I've seen YMMV reports about how many days you need to wait between cancelling and new application though.
Also things to keep in mind:
Use any credits you might have on existing card you haven't used yet.
Insure you move your UR points to a different card before closing old one.

I had a chase Preffered 6 years ago and down graded it to a regular Chase Sapphire with no annual fee, so I won't be able to open another one to take advantage of this deal, right? Thank you for your answer.
Chase used to have a one sapphire rule so I believe you need to product change your current sapphire to a freedom or freedom unlimited (you also could choose freedom flex but that is a master card not a visa so your number would change) then apply for the new sapphire. Since it's been over 4 years since you last got a sign on bonus for a sapphire you should be eligible. You can request a product change using the secure message so you don't even have to call in to do it.
Just went to the bank and confirmed deal. I was ineligible at the time because I just downgraded to freedom. Takes 30 days after for in branch app to show up.
Went to the branch today, was told that they need a promo code or offer to honor.
There is no promo code. I was told when they submit app it will show up bonus offer.
You can read the paper work it will show bonus points, before completing the app.

There is no code required, surprised they make a big deal for you, usually branch REP want you to apply in office ASAP as they get commission per application, maybe go another location... good luck!

But a question for anyone familiar with this: can you stack a referral bonus on top of this bonus?
Is that a thing? How can I go about trying it
