You can not have more than 1 Sapphire card at the same time, and you can not get a new Sapphire signup bonus if you received one on any Sapphire card in the last 48 months.
For anyone debating on whether to go for this, know that the all time high is 100k bonus points, making this a very lucrative opportunity.
You can- I've seen YMMV reports about how many days you need to wait between cancelling and new application though.
Also things to keep in mind:
Use any credits you might have on existing card you haven't used yet.
Insure you move your UR points to a different card before closing old one.

I just applied the card in branch yesterday. Will any chase branch honor this new promo?
i believe if you call in asap they said they might honor it. I think i heard it when i went in to apply for this but im not 100 percent sure. I heard it in passing.
Had the reserve since 2018. Downgraded to freedom unlimited 3 days ago. Went to a chase branch today to apply for the preferred. The banker couldn't find an option to apply for the preferred. He called credit card services and they told him I wasn't eligible to apply for another sapphire for two years after I close or change my old sapphire reserve account. Wtf?!
Anyone else experience this??
I think its 48 mo/ 4 yrs after you first close it down. i closed mine in 2021 so id be eligible to apply to a new sapphire (either a preferred or reserve, you can only get the promo for these once every 4 years)

yes. you would get the bonus if you have not had a sapphire card in 48 months where you were the primary
It's 48 months from when you last got a SUB from a Sapphire card, not 4 years since you held a Sapphire.
Thanks for all the good information in this thread. For those who did this, did you have to sign up for an appointment online before going into your branch?

I went into a branch Friday to apply but they didn't have anyone to help. It was pretty busy at that branch. They asked me to make an appointment which I have tomorrow.
I am currently an additional authorized user on my spouse's Chase Sapphire Card but I don't own a Chase Sapphire Card myself. Will I be eligible for the bonus points if I apply for my own Chase Sapphire Card?

Also I currently have the Chase Sapphire Card (vanilla) right now. I should still be able to apply to the Saphire Premier or am I SOL?
I will clarify that I had the Chase Saphire Premier maybe 2 years ago and I did downgrade to the one I have now. (Vanilla one)

1. Can I use any referral link to apply in branch?
2. Is $95 AF waived for the first year?
