You can not have more than 1 Sapphire card at the same time, and you can not get a new Sapphire signup bonus if you received one on any Sapphire card in the last 48 months.
For anyone debating on whether to go for this, know that the all time high is 100k bonus points, making this a very lucrative opportunity.
You can- I've seen YMMV reports about how many days you need to wait between cancelling and new application though.

Also things to keep in mind:

Use any credits you might have on existing card you haven't used yet.
Insure you move your UR points to a different card before closing old one.

I see a $900 travel value but not 90000 points.

No pre-approval. I stopped by the branch today and got the card with a 90k bonus.

So, still available. 4/11

I did.

Fairwinds is 60,000 points- not 90,000. You only get $900 "value" and only if you book specifically through CUrewards.

The Chase offer- for those who don't travel- is $900 cash. It's worth $1200 in the chase portal, but possibly a lot more than that via transfers...speaking of- back to the Fairwinds card...

You don't have the ability to transfer to hotels and airlines, so between that and the above the real value for those who travel is much lower than the chase card.

The benefits aren't as good either... Most obvious there is the auto rental coverage is secondary (ie garbage) while Chase is primary (ie actually worth using)

The only aspect potentially at all interesting is earning 2 points per dollar in non-category, which would be 3% if and only if the travel portal offered good value and you spent enough regularly in non-cat for it to be worth it.... but I think I'd still rather be earning any of 2x MR, 1.5x UR, or 2.625% straight cash with Amex, Chase, or BOA respectively for non-category spend than that, and the card seems pretty unremarkable otherwise.

Just converted Sapphire to Freedom and was told that I can wait only 5 business days to apply for a new Sapphire card and would qualify for a sign-in bonus offer; no need to wait 30 days.
Not sure how to proceed here. Does anyone have any additional info?
The minimum is 4 days. Waiting 7 is the recommended safe route. That has been the rule for sapphire downgrades. Cancellations require waiting a month. Reps may tell you 30, but a week is good enough for downgrades.

I have the freedom, I got this card just so I can transfer points to Hyatt now since the freedom didn't allow that, the 90k bonus is nice - what should I do with the freedom? I stopped using it a while ago after I paid it off but considering they don't allow you to transfer points unless you at least a csp - should I close it?

I went into one branch about 20 mins ago (4/12/23) and they said they only had the 60k offer. Just called another branch and she said they have the 90k in-branch. About to swing by there to hopefully get it!

Called my local branch. They confirmed they had the 90k offer. Just got back and got the offer. No issues. Took about 15 minutes. That had all my information from other products. Might take a little longer if they need to collect everything again.

Would it be possible to get this deal and upgrade to the Reserve after I get the points? Is it worth it doing this way? Thanks in advance.

Another data point

CSR since 2018
Downgraded to Chase Freedom on 3/21
Attempt #1: 3/25 - not available
Attempt #2: 3/30 - not available
Attempt #3: 4/13 - approved

Looks like it takes 10 days after downgrading from Sapphire to get approved

Good luck everyone.

Are they waiving the annual fees?
