You can not have more than 1 Sapphire card at the same time, and you can not get a new Sapphire signup bonus if you received one on any Sapphire card in the last 48 months.
For anyone debating on whether to go for this, know that the all time high is 100k bonus points, making this a very lucrative opportunity.
You can- I've seen YMMV reports about how many days you need to wait between cancelling and new application though.

Also things to keep in mind:

Use any credits you might have on existing card you haven't used yet.
Insure you move your UR points to a different card before closing old one.

I believe when we transfer the points from CSP to an airline, after that these points do not have expiration date right?
That will depend on the airline.

Some never expire. Some do expire if there's no activity for some period of time (the shortest I know of is 12 months, some are 18 or 24 months).

You'd need to check with the airline to be sure of their specific policy-- but also, generally, there's no reason to actually transfer your chase points there until you're ready to book... so worrying about expiration is really only an issue if you end up having to cancel an already booked ticket and having the points refunded- because once they're moved to the airline they can't be moved back.

Leaving them with Chase till you need them avoids the expiration concern and gives you far more flexibility to pick a different airline to best fit whatever the situation is (or potentiall use em with Hyatt for hotels too).

The only time I can think of you'd have any reason to transfer significantly in advance would be when they're offering a transfer bonus to an airline you're VERY confident you WILL be using in the nearish but not immediate future.

Does anyone know if your spouse can apply for this if you no longer have this card but had it within the 4 year period and the application wasn't under their name?

You having the card whenever is entirely irrelevant to your spouse doing anything with the offer.

Thanks. And I assume this is even if I had a card issued with her name on it under that account?

There is a new offer now for 80,000 points after $4000 spend via referral link

This option might be better for some since the referee gets 15,000 points for each referral that gets approved. Don't need to go into a branch either.

Correct.

The only thing that impacts eligibility for a chase bonus is if you, as primary cardholder, received that bonus in the last X months (48 months for Sapphire cards).

There are other things that impact your ability to open a chase card at all-- in general that's stuff like the applicant can't have opened more than 5 new cards with anybody (not just chase) in the last 24 months, and some more obscure rules like 2/30.... and for sapphire specifically you can't be currently holding a sapphire card (as primary holder).

Being an authorized user on someone elses card is 1000% irrelevant to all of it, OTHER than Chase will sometimes try and count that as one of the 5 in the 5/24 rule. (and you can often get them not to via the recon line if needed)

FYI: 80,000 points offer is now available online via referral link. I spent the time signing up in branch yesterday, somehow knew this would happen!

My code generates 75K initially, then refreshes to 80,000 - so confirmed that this is legit.

To get the $50 hotel credit, do I have to book via Chase website? What about priceline express deal?

What about the additional 10k points for spending $6k in 6 months - is that also available via a referral link?

Nope. Referral works out better for some if you know someone personally
