From my knowledge on it, PNY quality is low, while the Crucial MX500 is more or less medium/medium-high tier. That's how I understand it.

I agree with OP that the MX500 is better than the PNYCS900 (and that Crucial is essentially better than PNY). The MX500 is likely among the best options if you want a 2.5" SATA drive (rather than NVMe). I recommend reviewing the following (neither of which I authored):

The MX500 has DRAM and the PNY doesn't, for one thing.

Ordered two. Forget about pny, mx500 is well recognized on the market. Dram. You just can't go wrong with mx500 at this price range

My desktop computer has blazing-fast NVMe to boot but lately started to show that size matters too as its only 240 GB LOL
