On several occasions they have packed a large box with my monthly shipment that contained heavy cans, bottles (like olive oil) and other items. Well, the bags just don't survive. If the bag is not broken open, you can bet the contents are smashed beyond recognition. For example, I had a bag of kettle potato chips that had split open and the chips pieces (somewhat greasy) created a real mess.
I've really dialed back my Amazon S&S shipments for packing reasons like this as well as the high price increases. FWIW I didn't bother complaining to Amazon on the destroyed bags specifically, but the packing in general and I never received any response from Customer Support.

Agreed. Chimpanzees could do a better job than Amazon logistics.
But you really should have Amazon refund you for damaged items. It doesn't take long, and maybe they'll get their shit together paying for their ineptitude.
That said, I'm in for a crushed bag of tasty crumbs.

$5.98 for 40 ounces at Sams - 15 cents an ounce
$1.99 for 8.75 ounce deal at Amazon - 22 cents an ounce
Roughly 32% higher in this deal versus Sams Club pricing per ounce just as a reference point.

I've done the same thing, for multiple months I went through getting a credit and now it's just not worth the time and the effort to even deal with it so I skipped ordering stuff like this. Only feedback you seem to be allowed to give is how the delivery went and it's not delivery person's fault that the person who packed it sucked (although if we're having the problem in different parts of the country it seems to be more of an Amazon fault instead of an individual packing person's fault).
$2.49 (24% off), no S&S options either
