Then I guess you're lucky, or you actually have the stainless steel or titanium and don't realize it. There are stories all over the internet. Reach into your pocket and your keys hit against the watch, graze a marble countertop with your wrist, etc. For me it was reaching under the couch to get a dog's chew toy. There was a tiny pebble under there, and my watch face caught against it as I pulled my arm back out. It created a divet - like a tiny crater, not just a scratch - in the glass. I was astounded, found enough similar stories to convince me it's not a fluke. I believe there's a good reason the aluminum is so much cheaper and so much more often on sale than the SS or titanium models. It's not just the metal. The glass is completely different.

The glass on the nicer models is sapphire glass which is extremely hard to scratch but can still crack. The sapphire glass models cost is over double the price due to the sales. For most people it's simply not worth it.

I've worn an Apple Watch with regular glass every day since the first one released in 2015 and switched to a Series 4 in 2018. I've never had more than a couple minor scratches that you can only see if you hold it up in the sunlight. 99.9% of the time you're either not looking at the watch or just checking a notification on it so the screen quality doesn't matter that much.

A simple screen protector off Amazon usually does the trick. I've had one that just snaps on and is barely noticeable. Been over a year now and has protected my watch well without getting damaged.

Personally I'd go for the cellular. You don't have to activate it but if you need cellular at some point you've got it. If you sell it in the future the cellular models will likely hold a higher value.

Thanks, I actually bought the Target one yesterday but was considering returning and rebuying this Series 8. But further research shows there's barely any differences between the 7 and 8 (temperature sensor and car crash alert is all I found). So yeah, I'm keeping the Target deal, the tradeoffs seem well worth it!

bigger screen, faster processor and newest OS updates (i am pretty sure the support for the series 3 has ended). health functions if you use them.

my mom was okay with her series 3, but upgraded just because of emergency sos in case she falls and nobody is around.
