Never thought about this - gonna have to give it a try. Is it pretty seamless?
it's pretty seamless so far. Just logout your credentials on xfinity app, and log back in w the new credentials and set up using the existing cable router.. w/in 10-15 min.

From what i tested the Rental gateway still broadcasts 5-10 hidden wifi channels between 2.4ghz and 5ghz in Bridge Mode for Xfinity Home Security and Wireless TV boxes even if don't subscribe to them
Is that a bad thing? Are those hidden wi-fi channels going to cause interference with my exiting wi-fi setup?

And if they are hidden can I connect to them?

I do this yearly using my and my wife's names, alternating. I make a new Gmail account and self install with my own hardware. Going on year 5 with new customer promo. When I sign up it auto cancels my previous account.
Do you lose your comcast email (name) doing this? I've had the same email for years and would hate to lose it with change in account ownership.

did you "upgrade" to the plan while signed into your current account or did you sign up for a new account with the promo?

Hmm what are the steps you take? How much downtime are you without internet for?
I canceled my old service and added new service (under my wife's name) this afternoon and was without internet for a total of <15 minutes. would have been even shorter if I had initially remembered when I called to cancel my service to have them remove my modem from the "old" account before I could activate my modem with my "new" account.

Existing customer here. Was able to order 200mbps with the current login id. Not sure how it will affect my xfinity mobile lines and the ETF for the current plan good till Oct, but took the plunge.
Are you using your own modem? Were you on a price lock contract previously? Did you get email confirmation of the new updated plan and rate? Thanks!

Perhaps neither here nor there but, it's 2023, for the love of Cthulu, don't use an ISP-based email for anything that matters... Wink

Ha ha I use my CC email for online bills and such and keep a couple yahoo emails for junk stuff. Never had an issue with using CC email for select things.

$35 per month if you want a paper bill and to pay by CC.
$30 per month if you want to pay by CC.
$25 per month if you auto withdraw from bank account.
Add to that....

All the price below not including the XFINITY RESIDENTIAL TAXES should be <$1/mo.

https://www.xfinity.com/support/a...usage-plan <--- 1.2 TB Internet Data Usage (other than Northeast markets/states)

The price for 1st TWO years of 1.2 TB internal data usage plan (other than states in Northeast markets of USA).
For 200Mbps and 1.2TB/month of data. After 2 years when discount ended, add $38 a month
- $35 per month if you want a paper bill and to pay by CC.
- $30 per month if you want to autopay by CC.
- $25 per month if you auto withdraw from bank account.

For Unlimited data for most states in USA, you need to pay another $10 for the Xfinity xFI Complete
- $45 per month if you want a paper bill and to pay by CC.
- $40 per month if you want to autopay by CC.
- $35 per month if you auto withdraw from bank account.

AFTER two years, the two year promotion end and promotion discount for the xFi Gateway is gone. So add $38 for the two year promotion for the plan and then add $15 for the xFi Complete.
AFTER TWO years for 200Mbps plan with Unlimited data (xFi Complete)
- $98 per month if you want a paper bill and to pay by CC.
- $93 per month if you want to autopay by CC.
- $88 per month if you auto withdraw from bank account.

I actually have the same question.
not sure if I still need it,but have had email accout with them for years, not that I use it much, but never know if there's something linked to it I've overlooked.
my primary one I'm not sure I care about, but have a couple extra email addresses with them.
not sure if i can just recreate them once new account is up...
so I'd only lose the email accounts for a few hours maybe?

I have 8 months left on a 600MPS $35/month (no longer avail) that I'm tempted to try and switch to this just to extend my savings. No way to know how long this deal will be around.

What speed did you have before? I too have Xfinity Mobile lines so I'm not sure if I want to risk that, lol. But it sounds like you were able to just order the new deal on your existing account without cancelling correct? That would be sweet if I could get it to work.

It shouldn't take too long. I got an 'equipment has shipped' email already and I put the order in this morning around 7 a.m. EST.
Are you already a Xfinity customer and just taking advantage of this deal? If so, when you placed the order, did your internet get cut off the same day?

I was able to get the plan on my existing account by contacting them on Reddit. I find their Reddit support better than phone or chat.

Had already placed an order on my wife's account, so I will have to cancel that now. This might also have been the reason they gave me the rate, my account already had a cancellation request pending. They canceled the cancellation and switched to this plan.

I now have 200/100 for $35.
